Funding/Investor News
Glitch: Emmet Ryan reports in the Business Post that Glitch, a Dublin based artificial intelligence (AI) business, has raised €750,000 from Enterprise Ireland and angel investment. Glitch will launch its platform for managing online ads early in the new year. The company has developed a method of automating advertising campaigns, reducing the workload on human users. Previously known as Glitch Ads and based in Dogpatch Labs in Dublin, the firm was founded by Aisling Browne and Kingsley Kelly in 2023.
Medihive: Linda Daly reports in the Sunday Times that Medihive, the company behind WebDoctor.ie, an online GP service, has raised €5m as it plans for domestic and international growth. The fundraising round, which is due to close next week, brings to €15m the amount raised by the company. The round was comprised of new and existing investors, led by VentureWave. In January 2023 SiliconRepublic reported that the Irish medtech received €7m in a funding round led by ResMed.
Events/Programmes:
NDRC Accelerator - H1 ‘25 Application: The NDRC Accelerator is a programme for early-stage, globally scalable tech startups that helps founders build their businesses and raise funding. Every year, an average of 13 startups will be chosen to participate between the two accelerator cohorts. NDRC invests €100k per startup using a founder-friendly, uncapped SAFE with a 20% discount. Patch: Patch is a free summer programme for talented young people who want to work on impactful projects and creative business ideas. You’ll spend seven weeks working on your chosen project, getting to know a group of like-minded peers, and learning from brilliant mentors. After the summer, you’ll join the Patch alumni community and gain access to exclusive events, targeted mentorship, and ongoing career support. Listed mentors include Iseult Ward of FoodCloud and Des Traynor of Intercom. Past participants and community members include former BT Young Scientist winners and Red Bull Racing engineers. New Frontiers Waterford: Today (Nov 17th) is the final day to apply for the Enterprise Ireland's New Frontiers programme - Phase 2 at South East Technological University, Waterford Campus. Starting in December, this six-month programme is designed to accelerate your startup journey with no equity taken. Participants will receive a €15,000 tax-free allowance and gain access to a robust support network, including one-on-one mentoring from business experts within the Enterprise Ireland Mentor Network. This phase also provides invaluable insights into the Irish startup ecosystem, helping you navigate essential supports. Slush: Suhasini Srinivasaragavan reports that there’ll be a number of Irish companies attending Slush this year. E.I has announced a 24-company delegation attending the event on this Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st of November in Helsinki, Finland. Slush is set to bring together 13,000 founders, investors and executives this year to showcase talent and connect with stakeholders. 2024’s 24-strong Enterprise Ireland delegation – up from 18 last year – includes Manna Drone Delivery, workplace wellbeing start-up Lua Health and data security company Binarii Labs. AWS and DoiT are running a Slush Winter Warm-up party on November 20th at the Kämp Hotel. Noloco: Interested in working from Barcelona with an Irish founded YC backed company? Noloco is hiring a Software Engineer. Wayflyer: The Ireland HQ-d unicorn Wayflyer is hiring for a number of roles in Dublin including for a Customer Success Associate, Business Development Representative and Senior Product Designer. Since launching in April 2020, they’ve deployed over $4.5bn to thousands of brands worldwide, backed by Tier 1 banks like J.P. Morgan. Tines: Tines is a smart, secure workflow platform designed to automate any manual task, regardless of complexity. By automating workflows, Tines empowers frontline teams to reduce monotonous, manual work and free up valuable time and resources. They’re hiring for a number of roles including Product Engagement Manager. This role will report to the Director of Product Engagement and you will work in their broader 50+ person product, design, and engineering team. Product engagement is responsible for driving usage of Tines. They’re also hiring for additional Dublin based roles including a Senior Product Designer, Data/BI Engineer, and a Growth Marketing Manager.
